NRG BESS are a network made up of early career researchers contributing to interdisciplinary research focussing on biodiversity and ecosystem services. We are a dynamic part the NERC research programme BESS: Biodiversity and Ecosystem Service Sustainability. The NRG in our name stands for Next Research Generation.
The community consists of scientists working within a wide range of disciplines spanning both natural and social disciplines including theoretical ecology, applied ecology, conservation biology, sociology and economics, with many of us working on UK ecosystems.
The NRG BESS network aims to facilitate the sharing of ideas among members, to develop a vibrant and supportive community, to highlight and provide relevant training opportunities to members and to communicate BESS research to a wider audience.
